Economic Interest Statements
In accordance with the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act, almost 200 government agencies and 6,000 public officials and employees must submit ethics filings to the Kane County Clerk's office. Government agencies provide a list of people who must file Statements of Economic Interests. These individuals, known as filers, file their information online.
The Kane County Clerk's office accepts and stores Statements of Economic Interests filed by persons involved in a local government agency per the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act
State law requires Kane County elected officials, appointed officials, and certain local and county government employees to file a Statement of Economic Interests with the Clerk's office each year.
Note: Required Filers who do not submit their EIS by 05/02/2026 will incur a daily fee of $15.
After 05/15/2026, filers who still have not submitted their EIS will incur an increased daily fee of $100.
Fees may be assessed up to the State determined maximum of $1000

- Filers will not be able to log into the EIS system.
- After 05/15/2026, filers who still have not submitted their EIS will incur an increased daily fee of $100.
- Fees may be assessed up to the State determined maximum of $1000
